A SMALL TOWN EASTER

Today Christians celebrate the Sunday when Jesus rose from his grave.

Australians celebrate Easter in a variety of ways. Christians go to church , usually. There might be a special meal, the contents depend on what culture families come from, as we are a multicultural society. Lamb is traditional for many, to signify the lamb of God (Jesus. ) In the morning, many children rise from bed to find chocolate treats in the form of eggs or bunnies, traditionally, signifying new life. People also gift them to each other. My hubby likes chocolate bilbies, which look a bit like rabbits, but are a native Australian marsupial, and very endangered. The chocolate versions raise money for that cause.

The following are some photos of our backyard today, our Easter celebration, and an excursion for breakfast. After that hubby took Acerules to the Anglican Church. I was pleased to hear they had a morning tea afterward, and the people were very welcoming, that’s the spirit!

Correction, should say Rubian pottery, this was a line made by Grimwades, of England, who also made Royal Winton.

I love your decor. A wonderful tribute to a joyful faith.
I do wish I could have ducks and hens....We kept them as children, I fact I owned a bantam hen, given to me along with a dozen chickens! But they aren't good apartment pets. I don't even have a balcony.
We don't celebrate Easter here much. My daughter went up to the farm to pay bills and oversee the installation of a new and bigger voltage meter. She and GD go up there as much as possible which right now is weekends only as GD has exams. She's entering her final year of school and is going to have to work very hard.
Our celebration consisted of lunch at the club, with a couple of friends. There is no church near me; earlier we used to go to the little chapel across the road from our old residence. But every time we have moved the church has been farther away! I read my bible instead. Hubby is a Hindu, and my kids are also nominally Hindus.
Around this time we have a whole clutch of festivals of various religions. If that isn't a sign of a universal God I don't know what is. Which religion you worship Him by seems to matter less and less the older I get.
Have a happy Easter!

I too am not very close to a church, it’s 35 mins walk away and there’s no public transport there. That was the case in many of our residences. They tend to be in pricier neighbourhoods as a rule, I find.
