THE REAL ITALIAN DEAL

Serious coffee, and a chat are Claudio's specialty, in this establishment replete with antiques for sale also.  Claudio really knows his Italian coffee, and this is a popular café to meet with friends. As it is small and intimate, strangers often get chatting too. Food is homemade and presented very nicely. On this occasion, daughter had a baklava cake, with a soy vanilla milkshake and I had a decaf skinny flat white. I only bought one silver pedestal dish for $20, I was pretty well behaved.

245 Commercial Rd Yarram, Victoria, Australia.

My step mums half Italian. They're very food orientated and make a big deal of cooking and meal times. It's a good way to live I think.

That looks like such a nice place to go for coffee and conversation.

Yes, it is, and yes, the Italians are serious about their food and coffee, for sure.

We used to live in an upstairs apt and an older Italian couple lived downstairs. That lady cooked from scratch everyday and her daughters and their families came over to eat. It was a big family time every day..everything revolved around food. I confess the Italian restaurants are my favorite with all that pasta...

Pasta is a great profit maker in restaurants. Usually the ingredients are pretty cheap. When my kids were small, I liked how they were so welcome in Italian, and Chinese restaurants.
