A LITTLE PETTING

Here are some photos our daughter took today of some of our beloved dogs and cats.  Ours all have a job to do, keeping away rodents and predators. Included is a selfie she took today.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER:

“You can say any fool thing to a dog and the dog will just give you this look that says, 'My GOSH, you're RIGHT! I NEVER would've thought of that!”
― Dave Barry

OLDER DOG

Older dog has been with us many years. We are the third owners that we know of, since he was given to us when his owners were moving house. He is a very loyal watchdog, protector, companion, and has nice eating manners. He's happiest when he's with us.

"She clawed her way into my heart and wouldn't let go."  -Missy Altijd

There are costumed versions of this song from the musical "Cats", however I like the voice in this one:

OLDER CAT

Older cat was purchased at a pet shop as a kitten, when our daughter was small. She has been with us through many moves, and has survived many neighbourhood cats. She's a grey, with green eyes, very pretty.

YOUNGER CAT

Younger cat was given to us as a kitten. She is a grey moggie who is just out of kittenhood, but has stayed relatively small. She loves riding around on my hubby's head. He is her favourite person, but she's very cute and sweet in her own way to all of us. Her bravery belies her size, with other cats. Both cats love to come to meet us down the road, and escort us home from walks. Younger cat likes to flop down and roll over showing her fluffy belly several times on the way home. Then she will run ahead with her tail held proudly in the air.

YOUNGER DOG:

Younger dog is very enthusiastic, his tail goes constantly, but he is impatient for attention and food. He was given to us as a 5 wk old puppy. I would do the school run with him sitting in my bike basket in a soft cooler bag. He was a big hit with all the children he met. Now I can't really lift him.

YOUNGER CAT

Younger cat still likes to play with bees and butterflies, and our daughter. She often makes us laugh.

“I never married because there was no need. I have three pets at home which answer the same purpose as a husband. I have a dog which growls every morning, a parrot which swears all afternoon, and a cat that comes home late at night.”

So true, and bark alot! We have had to switch to food with no artificial additives as they are like ADHD kids.
