VENETIAN PARTY 4 - The recycled heart.

The recycled heart
----------------------

Excerpt from The Rose:
" It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live ."

I know some people who suffer from anxiety. Fear grips their hearts, if they go untreated. Fear stops them achieving their dreams, or in some cases from even daring to dream. The accepted treatment is medication, plus therapy. Everyone deserves to have dreams and to have a shot at achieving them.

For those with a battered heart, take a look at these world-weary,  opportunity (thrift) shop vases I bought for daughter's party.
Just started to transform:

Our party theme colours are black, hot pink, gold , silver, and off-white. The vases got a first coat of transforming paint, with a bit of help from me, as they couldn't change by themselves.

A first coat:

After a second coat, first coats of hot pink were applied:

More will be done to this and the other vases. The thing is, nobody wanted them the way they were, but with a few little steps, they have a new life, for at least one wonderful night.

"When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed
That with the sun's love
In the spring
Becomes the rose"

I love the new look ;)

When I am in a thrift store or at a garage/estate sale I look at all the items with a spray can of paint in my head.

Wow, beautiful and dramatic....Hi Margo, nice to see you....Isn't it fun to transform things? One summer I spent out in the yard spraying everything I could get my hands on....neighbors would come by curious. Now I want to sell it all, so I have been trying to talk myself into a garage sale....I am not as young and ambitious now and so far I haven't been able to get my $%## in gear....

Keep us posted on your progress....this is the fun part...I can watch and not have to work...

Lollol, I can just see you two running around in hoodies together spraying graffiti, lol.

Not graffiti but maybe a nice art wall.....of course it might look like graffiti to some very critical art person...

ROFL as long as you both didn't breathe in too much of the paint and get high. Margo would not stop laughing loudly and you'd both get arrested.

Yes, My friend and I did get high by accident, making resin grapes years ago. We didn't read where it should be done in well ventilated area. It wasn't until we were laughing like crazy we realized we were high...we did have fun though....

Yes, transforming things is fun;).... I guess I should go spray paint myself.

Well if you need spray painting, then I do more! I suppose we all have a second, or third life in us.

Kathy, that resin process does stink!
