VERILY IT BE VALENTINE'S DAY

I was expecting something this year. To my surprise, hubby asked me for some money out of housekeeping. I did know about the imitation pearl  necklace, put away until today,  but not the flowers. I'm pleased. He also sent me a couple of memes today, I was surprised. Let's just say he hasn't been very interested in Valentines Day in the past.

I gave him a scented soap on a rope by a French company I hadn't heard of, a deodorant with no smell so it wouldn't compete , and a chocolate bar. I have to find the card I bought, I often lose things I hide!

One of the memes he sent:

The flowers came in a heart shaped bowl arranged by our florist, Sue.

Lots of very important things happened in the world today, but getting signs of love from my husband were infinitely more important to me.

If you celebrate Valentines Day, I hope you have a happy one. Please comment below.

Yes, and Sue always does a great job.

She does lovely flowers for our parties, tailored to whatever is the theme. I have thrown some curly ones at her too (given her difficult briefs.) one boy's teen party was fluorescent colours on black. She came up with these glowing blue orchids in bright green boxes. I think she got them to drink up this blue dye or something.

Awwww, your bouquet was lovely Cath. It was the afternoon before I even registered it was Valentines Day and that was only cos I overheard a colleague talking about it. Hubby did come home with a single red rose n some chocs so that was a nice surprise. I'm a bit rubbish at remembering organised events, even Birthdays, and that includes my own. I was genuinely mystified one year when I went to go to work one morning and found several bits of post that turned out to be birthday cards for me! I've also forgotten things like when the clocks go back and turned up to an empty office and wondered where on earth everyone was. It was when I lived on my own and let's just say used to spend the weekends partying rather a lot.

Hehe, Fizz, you can use the calendar on your iPad, and get it to remind you in advance too. Then you will get notifications.

I think that's because gadgets don't come with instruction books anymore, we rarely use all their functions.
